Dear Friends,

I want to thank each and every one of you for visiting my site and for your interest in my writing and presentations.  I am so fortunate to be able to share my words and thoughts with you all.
Please check in often, as I am always updating this site with new information about book signings, presentations, and classes.  You can get information on my most recently published book Ghosts of Central Jersey and well as A Bit of Earth and Life on the Shoulder: Rediscovery and Inspiration along the Lewis and Clark Trail.
You may also obtain descriptions and share feedback about my five presentations, and obtain updates on any new projects on which I am working, including a more spiritual book about how we can find inspiration in the environment.

                                                                  Cheers!

                                                                  Gordon

UPCOMING EVENTS BULLETIN BOARD

* I was interviewed yesterday on "Old Ways in New Jersey," an East Brunswick Television show that promises to shed light on historical traditions that live on in our contemporary society.  The monthly show is produced and hosted by Professor Angus Kress Gillespie, of the American Studies Department at Rutgers University, and founder of the New Jersey Folk Festival.  My 30-minute interview on ghosts will most likely air in March.  I'll provide a link for you all when it's available.

* My next book Tracing Infinity: Following Life's Sacred Signs is tentatively scheduled for publication in the summer of  2012.  Here's an early endorsement.

"Gordon Ward understands that, for many people, the places they feel closest to God are outdoors.   The vibrancy of color, the complexity of atmosphere and light, and diversity of plants, animals and landscapes – all of these contribute to a greater awareness, a greater aliveness, a greater ability to sense the presence of God.   This heightened awareness of the divine in and through nature is as old as humanity.  In the past century, though, as we’ve grown wealthier in so many important ways, our sense of the divine outdoors has been impoverished.  We live longer, with less pain, and with far more choices than our grandparents could imagine.  But in the midst of that, we often lose our sense of reliance on God and our relatedness to the earth.   The kinds of stories that Gordon shares, and the spiritual sensibility they evoke, help bridge this 21stcentury divide – the gap between ourselves and the earth and God.  A sense of connection to that which is greater than us, and to the earth, are our birthrights.  Today, we need support to recognize these gifts on a regular basis, and to integrate the benefits and challenges of that awareness into our deepest sense of ourselves.   Gordon’s writing helps with that cultivation.  For that, we owe him a debt of gratitude."

My most recently published book, Ghosts of Central Jersey, is already on its third printing and addresses historic, haunted locations in Somerset and Hunterdon Counties.

I also have a lecture/presentation, entitled Historic Haunts of Central Jersey, which I developed for this book .
