This page is specifically for individuals interested in attending the

BHS Class of 1977 Reunion!

UPDATED NEWSFLASH: We have over seventy people attending our reunion, but we have to get our absolute and final count to the Grain House Restaurant by Friday, November 9th.  This means if you want to eat at the reunion, we need your paid reservations by Thursday, November 8th...no exceptions.  In short, my friends, in the immortal words of the character Rod Tidwell from Jerry McGuire, it's time for those who told Jim or me they were coming to "show me the money!"

November 8th, was the last day to reserve your spot!  Call Gordon if your check is in the mail.

So...we really need you to act quickly if you're planning to attend.  It's curtain time, the witching hour, the ninth inning, the two-minute warning, the fourth quarter, the third period, the home stretch.  Too many sports analogies?  Okay, since this is for a high school reunion, this might do the trick...  It's 11:45 PM and your date has to be home at midnight, and you're still making out at a party five miles from her/his home!  It's time for fast action!

All classmates have to do is send a check ($80/person) made out to BHS Class of 1977 to Gordon Ward, 28 Cheswich Court, Bedminster, NJ 07921.  If anyone has any questions, they can call Gordon at 908-719-3331 or Jim Christie at 908-204-9299.  Be sure to include your E-mail address, so we can send you a confirmation.

Here's a list of the classmates who have paid.  (Forgive me, ladies.  I'm using maiden names, so there's less confusion.):
Gordon Ward, Jim Christie, Tom Stoddard, Lauren Huebner, Pam (Newman) Hoffman, Jeannette (Spivak) Moser-Orr, Robert Desiderio, Kathy Bevins, Robin (Noonan) Price, Mark Senior, Kal (McDonald) Troianello, Rex and Karen (Moran) Parkinson, Rudy Kluiber, Lynn (Landgraber) McGuire, Todd Heckman, Helen (Veerkamp) Draheim, John Martersteck, Cathleen (Ricciardi) Shaw, Pam Nardone, Laura (Hartop) Kalnajs, Eric Alden, Deborah Sheehan
, Arlene (Keasling) Diorio, Mark Hanna, Lou Williams, David Salmon, Laura Lane Parry, Ruth (Wagner) Burak, Greg Barna, Eileen (Gilson) Lucas, Gregory Pearson, Gail O'Keefe, Mark Critides, Cary Watson, Bill Meyler, Karée Hassold (class of '76), Eric Hoffman, Leslie Nist, Sue (Michalowski) Eckenrode, George Behre, Patricia Finn, Gail (Richardson)Nuse, Scott Pfluger, Chris Fonda, Paul Seehafer, Cammy King, Sue Richardson, Richard Maddaluna, Susan (Sailliard) Ferrara, David Dilzell, Larissa Krumbiegel, Felicia (Martin) Brunner, and one classmate who wishes to remain anonymous to surprise everyone.
Don't ya just love the suspense?  This is just like a good mystery book...minus the sex (maybe) and homicide (I hope).
I update the list daily, so keep checking back.

We now return you to the regularly scheduled web page.  Please read on!

Okay, okay, stop doing the math...age is only a number, but the years that have gone by have given us a reason to have a great party!  You do remember how to party, don't you?

Well, come on out!

We're going to be adding information as we go forward, so keep checking back to this site for updates.  Here's what we can tell you at this stage of the game.

Where?  After discussions with Jim Christie, Jim Hollen, and Robin Noonan-Price, we've decided to have our reunion at The Grain House Restaurant on Route 202 in Basking Ridge.  For those of you that haven't been to the area in a while, it used to be called the Old Mill Inn.  It's an awesome place to eat and drink, and they do an excellent job with reunions.  (I actually got invited to have a few drinks with the class of '76 last fall at their reunion, so I took mental notes while I was there.)  We'll be in the Hunt Room & Pub (I didn't choose the name), which is a private room on the bottom floor.

When?  Saturday, November 17, 2007 from 7:30-11:30 PM.  Believe it or not, there was not much choice on the date.  Places get booked up quickly around here!  However, the time was a conscious choice.  What I found last year was that people used the afternoon and early evening to visit the high school (now three times the size it was in 1977) and meet for cocktails in smaller groups before getting to the main event.

Accommodations?  For those of you that need to stay overnight, The Olde Mill Inn (note the old-world spelling for a new hotel) sits just across the parking lot from the Grain House Resturant.  They are giving us a block of rooms at the special rate of $115/night based upon double occupancy.  Five (5) rooms are being set aside for Friday night, and fifteen (15) rooms are available for Saturday night.  If you think you may want a room, you can call the Olde Mill Inn directly at 908-221-1100.  Tell them that you are a member of the Bernards High School Class of '77.

What's to Eat and Drink?  Okay, now we're getting to the important stuff.  We'll be having a cash bar with two bartenders, an unlimited soft drink and iced tea station, hors d'oeuvres, and the Reunion Dinner Buffet Menu.  What the heck is that?  Here it is...

Entertainment?  Yes, we'll have Eric Clapton.  Did I ever tell you my Clapton story?  Well, Eric, owes me a favor from the time I took him in after rehab, so I'm sure he'll play whatever we want.  You don't know what it was like listening to "Wonderful Tonight" for days on end with an Englishman jonesing for smack.  I finally had to say, "Listen, Eric, you got drunk and got a hangover.  Your woman drove you home and put you to bed with an achin' head.  We've all been there.  Get over it.  It's after midnight.  Stop moping and get out there and change the world!"
And he said, "'After Midnight' and 'Change the World' would make groovy song titles.  Brilliant!  Thanks, mate!"
And the rest is history.  So...for the reunion we'll stick with "Mainline Florida," "I Shot the Sheriff," "Layla"...we'll skip the "Tears in Heaven" stuff....(Robin requested staying away from the slow, weepy songs.)

What?  You don't buy that story?  Okay...seriously, I've arranged to have Golden Earring, The Steve Miller Band, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and Spinal Tap (complete with a spontaneously combusting drummer) perform...on 8-track!

No? Alright, really seriously...since people will be wanting to talk, we're planning to have a CD/MP3 player on hand, so feel free to bring old...eh hem, I mean vintage...music with you.  Otherwise, Bob and Gil Gaus, Jay Merten, and I may threaten to resurrect our Battle of the Bands-winning group, which was known first as Whipsaw and then Specter.  (Thanks for the setting me straight on the names, Gil.)

I still listen to some of these songs...others are downright embarrassing.  What were we thinking?!
What was your favorite?  Mine is number 10.
What title would have symbolized your senior year?
(Yeah...uhhhhh...you can keep this a secret if you want.)
